Carlos Chavez Dies in Modesto Motorcycle Accident

MODESTO, CA (July 23, 2021) – A motorcyclist who sustained injuries after crashing with a pickup truck at Sisk Road and Whitcomb Way died from his injuries.

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 28-year-old Ceres resident Carlos Chavez.

The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. on July 20. According to the Modesto Police Department, Chavez rode a Ducati motorcycle north on Sisk Road when a Dodge Ram pickup pulled out in front of him from Whitcomb Way to make a southbound turn.

The motorcycle collided with the side of the pickup and Chavez ejected from the bike. Officials transported him to a hospital where Chavez died.

The driver of the pickup, a 76-year-old Modesto man, was not injured.

However, the accident remains under investigation.
