Car Hits Mom and 2 Kids Outside Fresno School on First Street
FRESNO, CA (September 13, 2023) – A mother and her two children were hospitalized in a pedestrian accident on First Street at Princeton Avenue Thursday morning on September 7.
The accident happened just before 7:30 a.m. near Birney Elementary School. According to the Fresno Police Department, the mother and her four children were walking in the crosswalk when a red Volkswagen Beetle struck her and two of her children.
The 11-year-old child was dragged by the car from the intersection to where the vehicle came to rest just south of Cornell Avenue. The 4-year-old complained of pain. The mother sustained injuries to her lower left leg.
Paramedics transported all three patients to a hospital for proper treatment.
Witnesses told officers the 70-year-old woman driving the Volkswagen ran a red light, causing the crash.
An investigation is underway.
