70-Year-Old Thomas Zapata Jr. Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Bullard Avenue near First Street

 
FRESNO, CA (September 13, 2023) — Thomas Zapata Jr. died in a pedestrian accident on Bullard Avenue near First Street.
 
According to the Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office, 70-year-old Thomas Zapata Jr. died in the 5:30 p.m. accident. For an unknown reason, a teen driver with a permit struck Zapata on August 26. Authorities learned that the driver was heading westbound on Bullard Avenue, making a northbound turn onto First Street. However, the driver proceeded to the intersection and struck the Fresno man.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and transported him to a hospital, but he later died.
