Miguel Rodriguez, Blake Howerton Detained After Stolen Vehicle Crashes near Caldwell Avenue and Ben Maddox Way

 
VISALIA, CA (March 27, 2023) — Miguel Rodriguez and Blake Howerton were arrested after the car they stole crashed into another driver near Caldwell Avenue and Ben Maddox Way.
 
According to Visalia Police, the two-car crash happened Friday afternoon. Two men, Miguel Rodriguez and Blake Howerton, reportedly stole a Dodge truck from Porterville. They crashed the vehicle into another driver at Ben Maddox Way and Caldwell Avenue.
 
Officers responded to reports of the crash, but the two men fled the scene on foot. Meanwhile, the driver of the other car stayed at the crash site and paramedics took that patient to a hospital for an evaluation.
 
With assistance from an aerial team, officers found 38-year-old Howerton, later identifying him as the driver of the stolen truck. He has an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant for auto theft, possession of burglary tools, grand theft and more. Not long after, police arrested 42-year-old Rodriguez, identifying him as the passenger of the stolen truck, when several calls came in about a suspicious man on Arlen Avenue.
