Speeding Rider Dies after Rear-Ending Another Vehicle in Fontana

 
FONTANA, CA (July 31, 2023) – Michael Banks was killed in a motorcycle accident in Fontana Sunday morning on July 29.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:33 a.m. on Citrus Avenue, just north of Slover Avenue. According to the Fontana Police Department, Banks was riding his motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the rear of the vehicle.
 
Banks was thrown approximately 50 yards away. Paramedics rushed him to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he died at 9:21 p.m. He was 46 years old from Chino.
 
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
 
An investigation into this accident is ongoing. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
