Pedestrian Mark Fiala Dies in Pleasanton Accident on Newtown Way at Stoneridge Drive

 
PLEASANTON, CA (May 11, 2021) Mark Fiala died in a pedestrian accident on Newtown Way at Stoneridge Drive Monday morning.
 
According to police officers, the fatal incident happened while 66-year-old Fiala was in a crosswalk walking his dog. For unknown reasons, a driver heading eastbound struck Fiala along Newton Way as he attempted to cross at Stoneridge Drive.
 
As a result of the crash, Fiala died from his injuries while his dog appeared to have suffered minor injuries.
 
At this time, police have not confirmed if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. However, if anyone has more information on this crash, please contact the Pleasanton Police Department.
