Mark Carter and Dennis Foster Killed in Helicopter Crash near Chastity Road [Nuevo, CA]

Authorities Identify 2 Murrieta Residents as Fatal Victims in Nuevo Helicopter Crash

 
NUEVO, CA (March 27, 2023) – Mark Carter and Dennis Foster were killed in a helicopter crash in Nuevo Friday afternoon on March 24.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:40 p.m. near Chastity Road and Pulsar View Road, roughly 10 miles north of Hemet-Ryan Airport. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the two were the only two people aboard the Bell 407 helicopter when it crashed.
 
Authorities said a call was received about an air emergency moments before the seven-seater helicopter crashed down in the remote, unincorporated area.
 
After Riverside County Sheriff’s aviation unit located the downed aircraft, deputies and firefighters hiked to the remote crash site where they discovered the two deceased passengers.
 
Carter was 61 years old and Foster was 62. Both were Murrieta residents.
 
The cause of the crash is still unknown at this time. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are handling the investigation.
