Mario Ramirez-Romero Detained After Hitting Police Car, Standoff near Kings Canyon Road and Armstrong Avene

 
FRESNO, CA (March 17, 2023) — Mario Ramirez-Romero faces an arrest after a standoff with a SWAT team and crashing into a patrol car near Kings Canyon Road and Armstrong Avenue.
 
According to reports, the incident first happened around 11:00 p.m. Monday. Officers tried pulling over Mario Ramirez-Romero for speeding on Clovis Avenue. Upon pulling him over, officers learned about his felony assault warrant out of Los Angeles, to which Ramirez-Romero responded by fleeing from the officer.
 
After speeding off, his vehicle struck a police car and sideswiped another.
 
Officers followed him to his home near Kings Canyon Road and Armstrong Avenue where a SWAT team arrived after he refused to come out.
 
The standoff lasted for several hours until the SWAT team shot gas into the house around 6:00 a.m. Subsequently, police arrested the 29-year-old and booked him into Fresno County jail.
