Maribel Mendosa Dies in Car Crash on 5 Freeway near 32nd Street

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 23, 2022) — Maribel Mendosa died in a car accident on the 5 Freeway near 32nd Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal single-car accident happened on December 14 around 10:02 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver of a 2019 Toyota sedan veered off the freeway and traveled down an embankment before hitting an overpass bridge pillar.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived at the scene and brought a passenger, later identified as Maribel Acebedo Mendosa, to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, the 39-year-old succumbed to her injuries. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office released her name days later.
 
Reports did not release information on the driver or the cause of the accident. Although, we will update this report with more information should we receive any.
