San Diego Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver after Fatally Striking Man in His 50s on Otay Mesa Road

 
OTAY MESA, CA (March 1, 2022) – A man in his 50s died in a hit-and-run crash on Otay Mesa Road on Sunday night.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. on February 27 near Sanyo Avenue. According to the San Diego Police Department, the male pedestrian was walking in the third lane of traffic when an unidentified vehicle struck him.
 
After hitting the victim, the involved driver did not stop.
 
First responders found the man suffering from major injuries. They attempted saving him, but the unidentified victim died at the scene.
 
San Diego police are still investigating the fatality and on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect.
