Man, Woman Hospitalized, Vehicle Plunges, Crashes off Highway 101 in Los Angeles

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 19, 2023) — A man and a woman were injured after a car crashed off Highway 101 near Figueroa Street.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the single-car accident happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. For unknown reasons, a pair occupying a Ford Expedition plunged off the Highway 101 overpass. The vehicle flew about 50 feet onto Figueroa Street where it crashed into a wall.
 
Responding authorities found the Ford SUV with its top rear nearly flattened and the front vehicle severely damaged, as well.
 
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department brought the patients to a hospital in an unknown condition. Authorities do not have information or an explanation for the crash, but they are working to investigate the scene as other crews worked to clear the area.
