MADERA, CA (August 7, 2021) – Police confirmed that a train struck and killed a man in an accident on 4th Street on August 2.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Gateway Drive around 7:00 PM.
 
Based on reports, the man was on the tracks at the time of the crash. At that time, the freight train was going between 40-45 mph. Then, the conductor reportedly blew the horn several times, but the man didn’t respond.
 
As a result, the victim died in the incident. Officials only identified him as a 47-year-old man. His name will be released after notification of next of kin.
