Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 178 near Beale Avenue in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 28, 2022) – Officers found a man dead on Friday morning after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Highway 178.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, they received reports about the incident on March 25 shortly before 10:30 a.m. Evidence indicated that a vehicle hit the victim near the center divider of Highway 178, just east of Beale Avenue.
 
Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
