Wrong-Way Driver Dies after Colliding with Pickup Truck on Highway 180 in Fresno County

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (April 18, 2022) – A man was killed in a wrong-way accident on Highway 180 in Fresno County on Friday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on April 15 at Dickenson Avenue near Kerman. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Honda Civic eastbound on the highway when he went into the opposite lane, directly in the line of oncoming traffic, and collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck.
 
As a result, the man suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
 
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
