Man Killed, Woman Arrested in DUI Crash on 15 Freeway near Palmdale Road [Victorville, CA]

Man Changing Tire on 15 Freeway in Victorville Dies after Struck by DUI Driver

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (February 8, 2023) – A man died and a woman was arrested after a DUI crash on 15 Freeway in Victorville Monday evening on February 6.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:15 p.m. just north of Palmdale Road. According to the CHP, the man was outside of his white truck changing a tire under the Palmdale Road overpass when a black 2017 Chevrolet Cruze struck him.
 
The Victorville Fire Department crews responded and found the male driver of the truck under the Chevrolet sedan.
 
The unidentified victim died at the scene.
 
The rear passenger-side tire of the truck was on a jack at the time of the collision and a tire was nearby. The truck was visibly loaded with bricks.
 
Meanwhile, the woman driving the Chevrolet remained on scene. Police arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
