Tyson Rodriguez Arrested Fatal Desert Hot Springs Car Crash on Palm Drive

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (January 2, 2024) – Authorities arrested 38-year-old Tyson Michael Rodriguez of Arcata following a fatal car accident on Palm Drive, late Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, the incident happened on December 20, at about 11:43 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a northbound Kia Sorento drove through the red light. Then, the vehicle broadsided an eastbound Ford Focus near Hacienda Avenue.
 
Emergency crews transported the 59-year-old Ford driver to a local hospital, where he later died. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the Kia driver, Rodriguez, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter.
 
Investigators believe that alcohol is a factor in the fatal accident. Desert Hot Springs police will release additional information once it becomes available.
