Two-Vehicle Crash on Victoria Avenue in Oxnard Kills 1 Driver

 
OXNARD, CA (April 9, 2023) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle accident at Victoria Avenue and Teal Club Road in Oxnard on Wednesday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:09 a.m. on April 5. According to the Oxnard Police Department, a 1993 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Teal Club Road and entered the intersection at Victoria Avenue. For unknown reasons, it collided with a 2020 Chevrolet pickup truck that was heading northbound.
 
As a result, the unidentified driver of the Toyota suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. They were alone in the car.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck stayed on scene and cooperated with officers.
 
The crossing, located in a mostly agricultural area, has stop signs on Teal Club Road but not on Victoria Avenue. The speed limit on Victoria is 55 mph.
 
Police said alcohol was not a contributing factor. Further investigation is underway.
