Early Morning Three-Vehicle Crash on Avenue J in Lancaster Leaves 1 Driver Dead

 
LANCASTER, CA (April 28, 2023) – A man was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Avenue J at 40th Street West in Lancaster early Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on April 27. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the man was driving a Dodge Journey SUV west on Avenue J at a high rate of speed when he struck the rear of a Ford F-450 Spectrum utility truck that had been stopped westbound on Avenue J at a red light.
 
The Dodge then overturned and crashed into a car at the intersection. The man driving it died at the scene. Authorities withheld his identity pending notification of his family members.
 
Meanwhile, the drivers of the two other vehicles only sustained minor injuries.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Anyone with further information is encouraged to call the sheriff’s Lancaster Station at 661-948-8466.
