Fatal Street Race Crash at Snell and Rosenbaum Avenues

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 13, 2021) – A man was killed in a street race accident at Snell Avenue and Rosenbaum Avenue in San Jose late Thursday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 11:00 p.m. According to San Jose police, the driver of a 1998 Honda Accord was racing the driver of a 2001 Lexus GS30 northbound on Snell Avenue. They both swerved off the roadway and smashed into separate trees.
 
As a result, the man driving one of the cars died at the scene. The other male drive had no significant injuries and answered officer’s questions.
 
Authorities have not yet identified the deceased, pending notification of his relatives. They also did not identify the other driver or say whether he was cited.
 
The investigation is ongoing, and police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Matthew Templeman at 408-277-4654.
