Passenger Dies after Stolen Car Rollover at Harris and Buena Vista Roads

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 31, 2022) – A man died in a stolen car rollover at Harris Road and Buena Vista Road in southwest Bakersfield, early Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 12:08 a.m. on January 30. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the victim was a passenger in the reported stolen car. The car entered the intersection and failed to stop for a red light. It then collided with another vehicle and rolled over.
 
Responding police officers found the male passenger with major injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, the man died at the scene.
 
The male driver of the stolen car was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. The driver and occupants in the other vehicle were unharmed.
 
Drugs or alcohol are possible factors in the crash. Police asked anyone with further information to contact them at 661-327-7111.
