Head-On Accident on Highway 178 in Weldon Ends in Fatality

 
WELDON, CA (January 31, 2022) – Linette Wood was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 178 east of Weldon on Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened around 11:45 a.m. on January 19, at the Kelso Creek Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white pickup truck and a grey sedan collided head-on along Highway 178 for unknown reasons.
 
When officers arrived, they found Wood suffering from fatal injuries and pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
Wood was a 59-year-old Onyx resident, according to the coroner’s office.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported at least one patient to Kern Medical for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
The cause of this fatal crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
