Skateboarder Dies after Struck by Car at Arlington and Jones Avenues

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 20, 2023) – A 51-year-old man was killed in a skateboard accident at Arlington Avenue and Jones Avenue in Riverside on Saturday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on February 18. According to the Riverside Police Department, the man was riding his skateboard in the westbound lanes of Arlington Avenue when a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze struck him.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 72-year-old Alta Loma man who was driving the car stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
No arrests were made at this time. It is also unclear if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
