Boyle Heights Pedestrian Accident on Santa Ana Freeway Turns Deadly

 
BOYLE HEIGHTS, CA (April 22, 2021) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Santa Ana (101) Freeway Tuesday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:25 p.m. on April 20 near the connector of 10 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was sitting on the right shoulder of the southbound Santa Ana (101) Freeway when a white Ford Fusion struck him.
 
As a result, the victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
 
No other injuries were reported. It is also unclear if the involved driver has stayed after the crash.
 
CHP officials are still trying to determine if speed, drugs or alcohol factored the accident. An investigation is ongoing.
