Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle while Walking along Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura
VENTURA, CA (September 8, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura on Thursday evening, September 8.
The accident happened around 7:35 p.m. just north of the Los Angeles County line. According to CHP, the victim was walking south in the northbound lanes of the highway for unknown reasons. A 65-year-old Port Hueneme man was driving a 2014 Ford Expedition northbound when the victim walked directly into his path of travel.
The driver hit the victim and then pulled over onto the right shoulder.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office withheld his identity pending notification of next of kin.
