Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Box Truck on Arlington Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (September 21, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident at Arlington Avenue and El Padro Street in Riverside Wednesday morning.
 
The accident happened on September 15. According to the Riverside Police Department, the male pedestrian was seen impeding traffic in the area by trying to open the passenger doors of passing cars. The pedestrian then walked into the street from the center median of Arlington Avenue when a box truck traveling west hit him.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and rushed the pedestrian to a hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.
 
The coroner’s office withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the box truck remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
