Pedestrian Dies in 91 Freeway Accident in Yorba Linda

 
YORBA LINDA, CA (April 2, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on the 91 Freeway near Gypsum Canyon Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened around 12:10 a.m. Monday. For unknown reasons, a pedestrian in the No. 2 and 3 lanes tried touching oncoming vehicles to get them to stop. However, a driver approaching struck him under unclear circumstances.
 
Minutes after, the Orange County Coroner’s Office arrived at the scene around 12:42 a.m. to assist the man who died from his injuries. Following the crash, CHP officers closed all westbound lanes except for the carpool to investigate.
 
Authorities did not provide information on the driver involved or what led to the accident, but reports noted that the man was perhaps trying to fix a disabled red car parked on the shoulder when he was hit.
