Pedestrian Dies after Struck by 3 Vehicles on 8 Freeway in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (April 21, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 8 Freeway in El Cajon, late Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m. on April 18 just west of Highway 67. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was wandering in traffic on 8 Freeway when a 36-year-old woman driving a Kia Optima, and a 28-year-old man driving a Dodge Charger struck him.
 
A third vehicle that fled the scene also hit the pedestrian.
 
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
 
The CHP is still investigating the accident. However, officers believe drugs and/or alcohol may have been a factor.
