OAK PARK, CA (July 15, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 54th Street in San Diego’s Oak Park neighborhood early Thursday, July 14.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 4:30 a.m. near Redwood Street. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 34-year-old man driving a Dodge Journey south on 54th Street struck the pedestrian in the middle of the roadway.
 
First responders attempted to revive the victim, but he died at the scene.
 
The driver and passenger of the Dodge cooperated with police.
 
Traffic on 54th Street from College Avenue to Redwood Street was impacted during the investigation.
