Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Pickup Truck on 5 Freeway at Magnolia Avenue

 
ANAHEIM, CA (April 12, 2023) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in Anaheim Tuesday afternoon on April 11.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 4:00 p.m. at Magnolia Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was walking from the right shoulder of the freeway toward the center divider when a vehicle, possibly a pickup, struck him near the left lane or carpool lane.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
During the investigation, the two left-most lanes of the freeway were closed, as well as the transition road to the eastbound 91 Freeway.
 
At this time, it is still unclear why the person was walking on the freeway.
