18-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Car on 42nd Street West in Quartz Hill

 
QUARTZ HILL, CA (September 28, 2022) – A young man died in a pedestrian accident at 42nd Street West and West Avenue L in Quartz Hill on Sunday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 10:07 p.m. on September 25. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 18-year-old pedestrian from Lancaster was walking within the westbound traffic lane of Avenue L when a 2004 Honda Element traveling westbound struck him.
 
The Honda’s driver was unable to slow or stop the vehicle in time.
 
As a result of the crash, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities withheld his identity at this time.
 
The Honda’s driver, 52-year-old Robert Moreno of Lancaster, was not injured.
 
Officers ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor. An investigation is ongoing.
