Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Van while Changing Tire on 210 Freeway in Rialto

 
RIALTO, CA (March 14, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 210 Freeway in Rialto on Sunday, March 6.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:35 a.m. just east of Ayala Drive. According to the CHP, the man was standing on the right shoulder changing a tire on his 2006 Honda.
 
Meanwhile, a 2022 Ford Econoline was heading eastbound on the freeway when for unknown reasons, the driver veered to the right and struck the man.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the Ford remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be a factor in the crash.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident. The asked anyone with further information to contact Officer M. Eshleman at the CHP at 909-383-4247.
