Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Semi on 15 Freeway in Fontana

 
FONTANA, CA (April 11, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 15 Freeway in Fontana late Thursday evening.
 
The accident happened around 11:09 p.m. on April 7 near the Duncan Canyon Road off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a semi truck fuel tanker was traveling northbound on the freeway when it struck the male pedestrian who walking in the slow lane of the freeway.
 
When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground and was unresponsive. Shortly after CPR efforts on scene failed, they pronounced the pedestrian dead.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
 
The driver of the semi remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
