Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 132 in Stanislaus County Kills One and Hurts 3-Year-Old Girl

STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (May 28, 2021) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 132 in West Modesto Thursday morning, May 27.

The accident happened just before 6:30 a.m. near Texas Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involved two semi trucks and a sedan. Three people, a man and a woman along with a 3-year-old child, were riding inside the sedan.

The impact of the crash ejected both the man and the woman in the sedan. Officials said they were not wearing their seat belts. The man died at the scene.

The 3-year-old girl was found in the back seat of the sedan but was not properly restrained in a child safety seat, officials said. Both the child and the woman were rushed to the hospital in unknown conditions.

According to preliminary investigations, the sedan had tried to pass traffic and entered the opposite lane. The oncoming semi veered to the right to avoid the sedan, but the sedan struck the rear axle of the semi and spun around. Another semi then hit the sedan.

Further investigation is underway.

We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
