68-Year-Old Motorcycle Rider Dies after Crash on Uvas Road near San Martin

 
SAN MARTIN, CA (November 27, 2023) – A man died in a motorcycle accident at Uvas Road and Watsonville Road near San Martin on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:45 p.m. on November 22. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Uvas Road toward the intersection and did not stop at a stop sign. As he started to turn left onto northbound Watsonville Road, he was struck by a 2018 Toyota Camry southbound on the same street.
 
As a result, the man and his passenger, a 60-year-old Los Gatos woman, were ejected from the motorcycle.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities only identified him as a 68-year-old Los Gatos resident. His passenger was airlifted to Valley Medical Center in San Jose with major injuries.
 
The Camry’s driver, a 41-year-old Prunedale man, was unharmed.
