Rider Dies in Motorcycle Crash at Hockett Peak Way in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 18, 2023) — A man died in a motorcycle accident at Hockett Peak Way and Harris Road Thursday afternoon.
 
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the deadly motorcycle collision happened around 4:45 p.m. For speed-related reasons, an eastbound motorcyclist plowed into a vehicle turning left from Harris Road onto Hockett Peak Way.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and found the motorcyclist on the road with major injuries. Despite efforts to save the victim, medics pronounced the individual deceased at the scene.
 
As for the driver, he or she stayed on site and cooperated with police investigators who believed speed factored into the cause.
