Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Car on Highway 33 in Ojai

 
OJAI, CA (May 29, 2023) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 33 in the unincorporated Meiners Oaks community west of Ojai on Saturday afternoon.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly before 1:15 p.m on May 27, near Meiners Road. According to the CHP, the man was riding his 2004 MV Agusta sport bike northbound on Highway 33. At the same time, a 2013 BMW passenger vehicle was heading westbound on Meiners Road.
 
The driver of the BMW, a 50-year-old Ojai woman, reportedly entered the intersection as the motorcyclist was riding by, and the two vehicles collided.
 
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered significant injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Ventura County Medical Center, where he later died.
 
Authorities only identified the victim as a 77-year-old Santa Barbara resident.
 
The BMW driver and her 13-year-old passenger were unharmed.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating this fatality.
