Motorcyclist Dies after Crashing into Tow Truck on 805 Freeway in Chula Vista

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (April 28, 2023) – A man died in a motorcycle accident on 805 Freeway in the Chula Vista area Wednesday morning on April 26.
 
The accident happened around 6:00 a.m. just south of Telegraph Canyon Road, in the High Occupancy Vehicle lane. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 30-year-old man was riding a 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle when he slammed into the back of a white tow truck that was stopped in the center divider.
 
The man suffered major injuries from the crash. Paramedics rushed him to UCSD Medical Center, where he later died. His identity was not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the tow truck was unharmed.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
