Man Killed, Jeremy Card Seriously Injured in Head-On Accident on Highway 44 [Susanville, CA]

Head-On Crash on Highway 44 in Susanville Kills 1 Driver and Injures 3 Other People

 
SUSANVILLE, CA (December 29, 2022) – A man died in a head-on accident on Highway 44 in Susanville Tuesday afternoon on December 27.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:19 p.m., just east of the Bogard Rest Area. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on the highway and another vehicle was heading westbound. For unknown reasons, the vehicles collided head-on.
 
As a result, the male driver of the second vehicle died at the scene. One of his two passengers, 47-year-old Jeremy Card of Utah, suffered major injuries. The other passenger, 27-year-old Sebastion Jones, also from Utah, had moderate injuries.
 
The driver of the pickup truck, 66-year-old Debbie Guasparilarosa of Napa, also sustained moderate injuries.
 
All the injured patients were taken to a hospital for treatment.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The CHP urged witnesses to contact them at 530-252-1800.
