Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Rosecrans Avenue in Compton

 
COMPTON, CA (October 16, 2023) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Rosecrans Avenue and Avalon Boulevard in the Compton area on Saturday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:28 p.m. on October 14. According California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was crossing the street when a vehicle struck him.
 
After striking him, the driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid.
 
The victim, whose identity was withheld, was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
A description of the vehicle was not immediately available. Further investigation is underway.
