High-Speed Rollover Crash on 80 Freeway in Vallejo Kills Driver and Hurts Two Passengers

 
VALLEJO, CA (September 6, 2023) – A man was killed in a high-speed rollover crash on 80 Freeway in Vallejo early Saturday morning on September 2.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:45 p.m. just east of the Highway 37 overpass. According to the California Highway Patrol, three men in their 20s were traveling at high speed in a black Toyota Tundra, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
 
The pickup truck then overturned and struck a concrete divider.
 
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the truck onto roadway. He died at the scene. Authorities only described him as a Vacaville resident.
 
The two passengers, one from Vacaville and other from San Pablo, were transported to North Bay medical center for complaints of neck and back pain.
 
Authorities believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
