Driver Dies after Colliding Head-On with Car on Keyes Road

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (September 6, 2022) – A man died in a head-on accident on Keyes Road in Stanislaus County early Sunday morning, September 4.
 
The accident happened around 1:00 a.m. just east of Pioneer Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving his 2008 Mazda east on Keyes Road at a high rate of speed.
 
At some point, he veered from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane and into the path of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 31-year-old Richard John Agresti of Ceres.
 
Agresti was unable to avoid the head-on crash.
 
As a result, and the driver of the Mazda was ejected from his car. He sustained a head trauma and died at the scene.
 
Agresti suffered major injuries, including a laceration to his head.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
