Man Killed in Car Accident at Old River Road and Ming Avenue [Bakersfield, CA]

Car Crashes into Tree on Old River Road in Bakerfield Killing the Driver and Injuring the Passenger

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 20, 2024) – A man was killed in a car accident at Old River Road and Ming Avenue in south west Bakersfield early Tuesday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on February 20. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a vehicle was traveling northbound when it left the roadway and struck a tree in the 1500 block of Old River Road.
 
The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
An adult passenger had minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
 
An investigation into the crash is ongoing, but officers said the road was wet due to overnight rainfall, with speed and impairment could be possible factors in the collision.
