Man Killed in Box Truck Crash on West Main Street [Santa Maria, CA]

Male Motorist Fatally Injured in Box Truck Accident on West Main Street and Kathleen Court

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (January 26, 2023) — A 21-year-old man died in a box truck crash on West Main Street on Monday, January 23.
 
According to Santa Maria police, at around 6:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the accident on West Main Street and Kathleen Court.
 
Sgt. Jesus Valle said a 2009 Cadillac CTS four-door traveled westbound on Main Street. Then his vehicle crashed into a large white box truck that was pulling out onto Main Street from Kathleen Court.
 
The only occupant of the Cadillac died at the scene. His identity was not yet available pending notification of his loved ones.
 
Officials said there were no other injuries reported.
 
Authorities closed Main Street between Hansen Way and Blosser Road after the incident. It remained closed for several hours.
 
Police continue to investigate the wreck.
