Big Rig and Van Collide on 110 Freeway in South LA Killing One Person

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (December 26, 2022) – A man was killed in a big rig accident on 110 Freeway in the Vermont-Slauson area of South Los Angeles Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:09 p.m. on December 24, at Gage Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white van and tanker truck collided on the southbound Harbor Freeway.
 
The victim, who was in his mid-40s, died at the scene. Authorities withheld his identity at this time.
 
The tanker truck did not spill its cargo or catch fire, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
 
No other injuries were reported. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation.
 
A SigAlert was issued at 7:25 p.m. shutting down all southbound lanes of the freeway at Gage Avenue while crews worked on the wreckage.
