Man on Bicycle Dies after Intentionally Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Arey Drive in Otay Mesa West

 
OTAY MESA WEST, CA (November 29, 2021) – A 40-year-old man was killed in a bicycle hit-and-run crash on Arey Drive in the Otay Mesa West area Thursday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:30 a.m. on November 26 at Norstad Street near the Silver Wing Recreation Center. According to the San Diego Police Department, an SUV struck the bicyclist and fled the scene.
 
When officers arrived, they located the injured man in the street next to his bicycle. Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
Police described the suspect vehicle as an older model Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe. Their preliminary investigation indicates the incident may have been intentional.
 
No further suspect information was available.
