Bicycle Commuter Dies after Hit by Car on Elmira Road in Vacaville

 
VACAVILLE, CA (August 15, 2022) – A man was killed in a bicycle accident on Elmira Road in Vacaville on Thursday morning, August 11.
 
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. just before Leisure Town Road. According to the Vacaville Police Department, the man was riding his bicycle on his way to work when a sedan struck him from behind.
 
The impact threw the victim into the car’s windshield.
 
The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet. He was a 33-year-old resident of the community of Elmira.
 
Meanwhile, the driver remained at the crash site and cooperated with authorities.
 
Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
