Man Hurt, Woman Detained in Carjacking, Accident at Fern Street in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 10, 2022) — A man faces injuries and a woman an arrest after a carjacking and a crash at Fern Street and Grape Street Monday morning.
 
According to San Diego police officers, the carjacking started around 11:00 a.m. Monday. For unknown reasons, a woman carjacked a DoorDash driver’s vehicle as he made a delivery to a resident. The driver subsequently hopped onto the roof of the car before the woman took off, ejecting him from his roof and onto the road.
 
Shortly after, paramedics brought the man to a hospital with unknown injuries.
 
As for the woman, she fled southbound but eventually crashed into Native Poppy flower shop in South Park where she took off running and hiding in the canyons. Officers, however, were able to capture her and take her into custody.
 
At this time, officers have not said whether DUI played a factor in this crash, but an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
