Pedestrian Seriously Hurt after Accident on Mission Boulevard near Thomas Avenue

 
MISSION BEACH, CA (December 6, 2021) – A 55-year-old man sustained injuries following a pedestrian accident on Mission Boulevard, late Sunday evening.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened on December 5, shortly before midnight. The pedestrian was reportedly walking eastbound in a marked crosswalk. Then, a northbound Jeep hit him at the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Thomas Avenue.
 
Emergency crews transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of a fractured pelvis and other life-threatening injuries.
 
As per reports, the Jeep drove away a short distance to the 800 block of Grand Avenue. A short time later, officers arrested the 24-year-old driver on suspicion of felony drunken driving. Authorities did not release the name of the driver.
