Sarai Baldovinos Killed after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 152 and Road 9

 
CHOWCILLA, CA (December 6, 2021) — One person identified as 18-year-old Sarai Baldovinos died in a multi-car crash on Friday, December 3.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incidents happened on eastbound Highway 152 and Road 9.
 
The first crash happened at around 8:30 a.m. when a woman ran into the trailer of a semi-truck. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
 
A witness said other vehicles then ran into the woman’s vehicle.
 
While responding, CHP officers said several other incidents happened east of the original crash. The collisions carried over to the westbound side and blocked both directions of traffic.
 
At around 10:00 a.m., more than three semis, several cars, and even an armored vehicle crashed near Avenue 11.
 
Officials closed Highway 152 from Highway 59 to Highway 99 as they investigate the number of injuries and incidents.
 
The extremely foggy conditions during that morning may have contributed to the collisions.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the incidents.
