Man Sustained Injuries in Bicycle Crash on San Pablo Avenue near Virginia Street

 
BERKELEY, CA (November 28, 2022) — A man in his early 30s suffered injuries in a bicycle accident on San Pablo Avenue on Friday, November 25.
 
According to the Berkeley Police Department, the incident happened on San Pablo Avenue near Virginia Street at around 7:05 p.m.
 
Police said a Volvo sedan moving southbound on San Pablo Avenue struck the cyclist. The cyclist’s direction of travel was not yet determined, BPD said.
 
Officers found the cyclist unconscious with shallow breathing after the incident. Paramedics rushed him to Highland Hospital with major injuries and are in critical condition as of Saturday. His city of residence was not immediately available.
 
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Police continue to determine the circumstances of the incident. They will review any available video footage from the area in the following days.
